Brazilian Wax Procedure

The purpose of this is to walk you through the details of the Brazilian Wax session so you will feel more at-home when attempting the procedure for the first time.

Some higher end salons or spas will insist that the client shower themselves and wash their privates and butt areas before the procedures starts. Most salons however don’t and the first thing that is asked of the client is to disrobe exposing the lower area of their torso and legs.

The next thing that is done is to dust the Brazilian Wax areas with talcum powder so that the wax which is to be applied later will not stick on the skin rather just stick on the hair. When that is all done the next thing to do is to apply the wax. The was generally is a mixture of natural bees wax and tall oil for the more natural treatments however some salon operators will use other types of synthetic wax which can be just as good.

When the wax is applied a piece of cotton cloth is placed on top of the wax. A few moment are spared where the wax is given time to bond with the hair. The next part of the procedure is the one which is most important and at most times the most “memorable”. The wax strip with the cloth is ripped of against the grain as fast as the esthetician can. It is generally believed that if the wax is ripped of quickly then the pain felt by the client is reduced substantially.

The process is repeated on different parts of the area until most of the hair is removed. A small strip of hair is generally left behind near the genitals for aesthetic purposes. There are a few tips that I would like to impart when receiving a Brazilian Wax treatment, which is to not hold your breath when the ripping is done, much like not holding your breath when receiving a tattoo, you’ll probably end up fainting.

After the waxing procedures are done the next part of the treatment can be considered the most “personal”. The esthetician will detail the area with a tweezer getting rid of any hairs that may have been left behind after the waxing. This last treatment is the most important as it gives the baby’s bottom feel after the waxing procedure.

There are a few things that I’d like to clear up for people who are interested in the Brazilian Wax treatments. Firstly is that it will be painful so be ready for it. Don’t believe it when people tell you that it won’t be painful. Secondly is that you have to be ready for people to have a very personal look at your private parts. Most people don’t give it a second thought but when the moment comes they shy away.

May I suggest that potential Brazilian Waxers look at this video for a visual representation of the experience they will encounter:
